In the spring of 2006, we enrolled our 6-month-old Jack Russell Terrier into the group Basic Obedience class at Gillette Kennels. Over the 8-week class, my wife and I were amazed at how effective Kirk’s methods of training worked, even on day one!! Our JRT passed away in August of 2017 and to the day of her death, she was the happiest dog around and very obedient.

In October of 2017 we rescued another dog, this time it was a Chocolate Lab. The Shelter did not know her previous history. We were offered obedience training at the facility we rescued her from at a reduced rate. We accepted their offer and started classes a few weeks later. Three sessions completed and our lab was not learning commands and her behavior was actually getting obnoxious. The training we were getting was not effective at all and my gut feeling was it was incorrect. There wasn’t any structure or discipline to the class.

November 2017, we sought out Kirk Gillette’s help once again. We brought our lab in for a behavior consultation and my gut feeling was correct, we were reinforcing unwanted behavior (incorrectly teaching us). During this visit with Kirk, we observed immediate results. Everything we learned in 2006 started to come back to us. In January 2018, we enrolled in Private Lessons with Kirk.
